Little Snitch Mini Help

Map

The map gives you an impression to which parts of the world your Mac connects. Each connection in the connection list on the left side is represented by a line from your Mac's location to the estimated location of the remote server. Little Snitch Mini derives this information from the Internet Addresses used when requesting the connection. It ships with a database which maps each Internet Address to a country or region.

Although the database provided is updated frequently, it may contain errors or be appear out of date by the time you view the article.

Your Mac's own location is represented by the computer icon. Little Snitch Mini initially places it in the Atlantic Ocean, and you can drag it anywhere you like, or right-click on the map to set the location to that specific point. Or you can use the Location Services in macOS to automatically determine your Mac's current location. Note, however, that lines between you and very close locations are hard to see. For example, if you set your location to of your own country, you will not be able to see connections to your own country.

Inactive connection lines are shown in blue, flash in green when data is being transferred and flush in red when blocked. Connections that are completely blocked (by blocklists or individual rules) are permanently shown in red.

Filtering by Geographic Location

If you select an app, a single connection or a combination from the connection list, only the routes associated with that selection will be shown on the map. On the other hand, if you click on a location on the map, for example Germany, it will be applied as a filter (location filter) and only apps that connect to that specific location will be shown.
